We would like to announce BTC Bookmakers Technology Consortium as one of our exhibitors at this year’s show at Cranmore Park, Solihull.

Bookmakers Technology Consortium is a non-profit making company limited by guarantee and does not have a share capital. The company has members rather than shareholders and the members do not share in the profits, if any, of the company.

The objective of the company is to assist independent bookmakers in the procurement and operation of new technology on the basis of best of breed solution on beneficial commercial terms. Membership will be open to any independent bookmaker based in the UK or Ireland.

The Consortium will use the joint buying power of all the members to negotiate advantageous deals with suppliers. All members will then be able to take advantage of these deals. The Consortium will primarily operate as a facilitator, not as a service company.

The Consortium has in place an agreement with Optima Information Systems for the supply of a Betting Shop EPoS system together with internet and call centre software. We are presently working with Optima to facilitate bookmakers with small groups of shops to upgrade to the Optima MarginMaker2 EPoS system.

We have been instrumental in negotiating for the supply to independent bookmakers of the Genus display system from 2DB. This system provides independent bookmakers with significantly more central control of their display systems than the previous screen display systems.

The BTC have an agreement in place with SIS for the provision of data at a considerably lower cost than was previously available.
